Retiling a bathroom in Dubai means breaking out old tiles, days of noise and dust, and a bathroom you can't use until the grout has cured. Bathroom wrapping takes a different approach. It covers the tiles, vanity and bath panels you already have with waterproof architectural vinyl. Here's what it costs, what it can and can't do, and how to decide between wrapping and a full renovation.
What is bathroom wrapping?
Bathroom wrapping is the application of moisture-resistant vinyl film directly over existing bathroom surfaces. The film is available in marble, stone, concrete, wood grain, matte and solid colours, so a dated beige-tiled bathroom can become a modern marble or concrete-look space without removing a single tile.

What can be wrapped in a bathroom?
- Wall tiles: the most common job, and the biggest visual change
- Vanity units: cabinet fronts, drawers and surrounds
- Bathtub panels: side panels and surrounds, matched to the walls
- Countertops: around the basin
- Mirror frames and doors: to tie the new colour palette together
Floor tiles can be covered too, using a heavier floor-grade film. That's a separate process, covered on our floor wrapping page.
How much does bathroom wrapping cost in Dubai?
For a small to average-sized bathroom, professional wrapping typically costs between AED 3,500 and AED 8,000. Wrapping a bathtub on its own usually falls between AED 1,500 and AED 5,000, depending on its size and shape. The main things that move the price are:
- How many surfaces you wrap (vanity only vs the whole room)
- Wall area and how many cut-outs there are around fittings
- The finish you choose (marble and patterned films take longer to align)
- The condition of the tiles and grout underneath
That is a fraction of what a full bathroom renovation costs, and there is no demolition or disposal to pay for.
Is bathroom wrapping waterproof?
The vinyl itself is waterproof, and it's chosen to cope with Dubai's heat, humidity and condensation. What makes a bathroom wrap last is the installation: edges are sealed and the film is wrapped around corners rather than cut at them, so water can't get behind it.
Where we are careful is surfaces under constant running water, such as the inside of a walk-in shower. There, the edges take much more abuse. We'll tell you during the site visit which areas are ideal for wrapping and which are better left as they are.
We started offering bathroom wrapping because people wanted a faster, cleaner way to upgrade their homes without living in a construction zone for weeks.

Bathroom wrapping vs renovation
Choose wrapping if:
- Your tiles are sound but the colour or pattern is dated
- You rent and need a change you can remove later
- You're getting a property ready for sale or new tenants
- You can't be without a bathroom for weeks
Choose renovation if:
- Tiles are cracked, loose or hollow-sounding
- There's a leak, damp or mould behind the tiles
- You want to move the shower, toilet or basin
- Plumbing or waterproofing needs replacing anyway
How long does it take?
A typical bathroom wrap takes a single working day, often around 4 to 6 hours. Larger bathrooms or full-room jobs can take longer. There's no curing time, so the bathroom can be used again as soon as the team has finished.
Frequently asked questions
Can you wrap over old tiles with grout lines?
Yes. The surface is cleaned and prepared first. Deep or damaged grout lines may need filling so they don't show through the film.
How do I clean a wrapped bathroom?
Use a soft cloth with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemical cleaners.
Will it damage my tiles if I remove it?
No. Architectural vinyl can be removed without damaging the tiles underneath, which is why it's popular in rented apartments.
